The Saskatchewan Bureau of Statistics operates under the Saskatchewan
Statistics Act 1972 and is located within the Ministry of Finance.
The Bureau is the designated focal point for communications with
Statistics Canada and dissemination of its information. The current
staff complement consists of a director, two research officers, a
statistical clerk and a secretary.
The Bureau releases the Monthly Statistical Review and the Saskatchewan
Economic Review. Both publications are a compendium of the most
asked-for Saskatchewan monthly, quarterly and annual data. In addition,
the Bureau produces a set of Economic Accounts twice yearly which are
published as Saskatchewan Economic Statistics. The Saskatchewan
Fact Sheet provides a snap shot of important economic and social
statistics on Saskatchewan for the past two years. On a monthly basis
and based on documentation from Statistics Canada the Bureau compiles
tables for the distribution of the Labour Force and the
Consumer Price Index reports.
The Bureau also answers numerous requests for statistical information
from the public and various government departments.
