According to Statistics Canada, the Saskatchewan unemployment rate for May 2009 was 4.9 percent. This is a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from the April 2009 rate of 5.4 percent but 0.9 percentage points higher than the May 2008 level of 4.0 percent.

According to Statistics Canada, the Saskatchewan All-items Consumer Price Index increased 0.8 percent between April 2009 and May 2009 while the Canada All-items Index advanced 0.7 percent.
